Human Rights Policy
DNP Group Human Rights Policy
Under our corporate philosophy of realize a sustainable, better society and well-being lives, the DNP Group Code of Conduct outlines the behavior expected of all DNP employees, and upholds respect for human dignity and diversity.
We position respect for the human rights of all stakeholders involved in our business activities as the foundation of our corporate activities, and seek to clarify the following basic stance: DNP does not tolerate discrimination based on any of the following, culture, nationality, race, ethnicity, language, religion, creed, personal beliefs, sexual and/or gender identity, age, physical characteristics, social status, sexual orientation, gender identity, health status, the presence of disabilities, or employment status. We strive to prevent all forms of harassment, maintain a healthy and safe working environmment, and to contribute to the realization of a better future, by respecting the diversity of each individual and accepting each other.
Based on this stance, and in order to fulfill our responsibility to respect human rights, we have revised the DNP Group Human Rights Policy. This policy has been approved by the Board of Directors and reflects expert input from both internal and external specialists.
- Basic Principles
DNP supports and upholds internationally recognized human rights standards, including:
・The United Nations International Bill of Human Rights
・The International Labor Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
・The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
・The ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles Concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy
・The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct
As a signatory to the UN Global Compact, DNP endorses its Ten Principles, and will implement initiatives to respect human rights based on these principles.
We comply with all laws and regulations in the countries and regions where we operate, and in the event of discrepancies between local legal requirements and international human rights standards, we will endeavor to uphold internationally recognized human rights to the greatest extent possible while complying with local law. - Scope
The revised policy applies to all DNP employees. DNP also expects all business partners to support and comply with this policy.
Through the DNP Group Sustainable Procurement Guidelines, we cooperate with suppliers and contractors to promote initiatives that advance respect for human rights. - Human Rights Due Diligence
Aligning ourselves with the UN Guiding Principles, DNP has established a human rights due diligence framework to identify, prevent, and mitigate potential negative impacts on human rights arising from its business activities. Based on this process, we will identify priority human rights issues, as outlined in the attached reference table.
If adverse human rights impacts within the supply chain become apparent, DNP will make efforts to engage in dialogue and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to pursue corrective action. When necessary, we will take appropriate measures, including the termination of business relationships. - Remedies
DNP maintains a hotline for reports and inquiries regarding human rights from both internal and external stakeholders. If the company is found to have caused or contributed to negative human rights impacts, we will provide remedies through appropriate procedures. - Education and Training
To ensure the effectiveness of the revised policy, DNP will provide all employees with appropriate education and training. The company will also offers training opportunities to our business partners as needed. - Stakeholder Engagement
DNP will engage in ongoing dialogue and collaboration with stakeholders to improve its human rights due diligence efforts. When business activities may negatively affect stakeholders, or where such concerns exist, we will work to understand the situation through dialogue and respond appropriately to resolve human rights challenges. - Information Disclosure
DNP will disclose progress related to its human rights based on the revised policy in a timely and appropriate manner through its corporate website and other communication channels. - Governance
Human rights initiatives, including compliance with and implementation of the revised policy, will be advanced as the responsibility of the Sustainability Committee under the supervision of the Board of Directors.
- *"All DNP employees" refer to the directors, audit & supervisory board members, corporate officers and advisors of the companies in DNP Group, those in an employment relationship with the companies and temporary staff assigned to perform work or services for the companies under temporary staffing contracts.
This policy has been approved by the Board of Directors.
