Dai Nippon Printing, Eslite Bookstore Taiwan, and Tezuka Productions will jointly open the "Tezuka Osamu Bookstore" in the Eslite Bookstore Taipei Dunnan store on July 13th.

Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP), in collaboration with Eslite Bookstore Taiwan and Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd., will open an "Osamu Tezuka Bookstore" in the Eslite Bookstore Taipei Dunnan store in Taipei, Taiwan, from July 13, 2018. In addition to the Taipei Dunnan store, a "Osamu Tezuka Bookstore Fair" will also be held at three other stores from July 13 to September 2, 2018, including the Taipei R79 store, the Taichung Garden Road store, and the Kaohsiung Dayuanbai store.

"Tezuka Osamu Bookstore" is a project that began in 2014 with the aim of creating a bookstore that stocks all books related to Tezuka Osamu, and currently operates five stores, including the Maruzen Marunouchi main store, in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Gifu, and Awaji Island. "Tezuka Osamu Bookstore" is a hybrid bookstore that combines "print" and "digital" services, including "Print Media" that handles Tezuka Osamu's manga and related books, "TEZUKA SPOT" - a Tezuka Osamu library that can be viewed exclusively at the bookstore - "Digital Media" that handles e-books, "On-Demand Publishing" that produces and sells out-of-print works and books starting from a single copy, and the sale of "character goods related to Tezuka Osamu's works."

Tezuka Osamu, a leading figure in Japanese manga and hailed as the "God of Manga," is a widely known and highly popular manga artist in Taiwan. The three companies will jointly launch the "Tezuka Osamu Bookstore" in Taiwan to coincide with the 90th anniversary of Tezuka Osamu's birth in 2018, and will widely promote the appeal of Tezuka Osamu to both existing Tezuka fans and the younger generation of manga fans.

Founded in 1989, Eslite Bookstore in Taiwan is a large bookstore chain representing Taiwan. It operates as a complex that not only stocks books but also art works by Taiwanese creators, as well as popular gourmet and fashion items selected with a unique sense of aesthetics. As a cultural hub, it is highly popular with people of all ages and genders, and in 2004 it was selected as "Asia's Best Bookstore" by the Asia edition of TIME magazine. Currently, it operates 41 stores in Taiwan, 3 stores in Hong Kong, and 1 store in Suzhou (as of June 2018).
