DNP Selected as FY2022 Nadeshiko Brand by METI and TSE

Recognised as a company encouraging women’s success in the workplace

Tokyo, March 24, Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) is pleased that on March 22 the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) jointly selected DNP as a FY2022 Nadeshiko Brand.

The Nadeshiko Brand is an initiative aiming to introduce certain TSE-listed enterprises that are outstanding in terms of encouraging women’s success in the workplace as attractive stocks to investors. An emphasis is put on improving corporate value in the mid- and long-term, thereby further raising investors’ interest in such enterprises and accelerating the efforts by outstanding enterprises.

DNP was selected as a Semi-Nadeshiko Brands for 3-consecutive years since 2019, and in 2022 has been recognised as a fully-fledged Nadeshiko Brand for the first time.

Diversity and Inclusion Efforts at DNP

DNP respects the differences between individuals, which are also mutually accepted, and by leveraging that diversity, we can maximize the capabilities of the individual and the company and create new value.

As a means of realizing such value creation, in July 2020, DNP announced the top commitment DNP Diversity Declaration, to accelerate the promotion of Diversity and Inclusion1 (D&I), including ensuring psychological safety in the workplace.

D&I promotion concept

DNP Initiatives Designed to Encourage Women’s Success in the Workplace

In addition to Training for Next-Generation women Leaders, in 2021 DNP launched a Sponsorship Program to promote the appointment of women to higher positions in the workplace hierarchy in order to boost diversity in decision making venues. At DNP, we will not only develop women leaders, but also promote a change in the management mind-set, and foster a corporate culture in which diverse work styles and human resources with diverse strengths can play an active role.

Based on our activities to date, we currently plan to achieve our goals regarding the twin targets, of raising the ratio of women executive officers to 7% or more, and doubling the number of women executive officers or women in leadership roles, that formed the Second Stage Action Plan (2019~2021) of the Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace.

Looking ahead, we will maintain our focus on D&I, and by further combining our diverse strengths, we will strive to overcome social challenges and create new value that meets people’s expectations.
