TRiCERA, Inc.

Tokyo, June 9, 2023, DNP Art Communications Co., Ltd. (DNP Art Communications), a member of the Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) Group, and TRiCERA, Inc. (TRiCERA) the operator of the global art platform TRiCERA ART that sells contemporary art, are pleased to announce the formation of a capital and business alliance on June, 2023.

The partners will collaborate to pioneer markets and build business in the fields of art prints and high-definition reproductions, while also developing a related licensing business. Beginning with Japan, we aim to create a new business model for contemporary art for overseas markets, mainly in the Asian nations.

Aim of Business Alliance

DNP Art Communications leverages the Printing and Information (P&I) strengths of the DNP Group, including high definition image processing and printing technology, to operate a variety of businesses related to art, cultural assets and graphic design.

TRiCERA operates TRiCERA ART where contemporary artists from around the world can freely present and market their works. TRiCERA supports online sales of works of art, provides explanations and negotiation services in multiple languages, while also acting as an agent arranging optimal packaging and conducting shipping and customs clearance procedures on behalf of artists, allowing them to carry on work independently.

The new business alliance will bring together the works of artists participating in TRiCERA ART with DNP’s high-definition reproductions and image data archives. We aim to create a new business model for contemporary art in overseas markets, mainly in Asia. Leveraging the respective strengths of our two companies we will contribute to the further development of the art business.

Summary of Business Alliance

1. Leveraging DNP’s high-definition reproductions to expand the print business

DNP’s high-definition reproduction takes maximum advantage of DNP's know-how in image processing technology cultivated over a period of many years, along with the coloring functions of output devices. The aim is to expand business by developing and selling prints by artists participating in TRiCERA ART, reproducing them with a color tone and brush stroke, along with a canvas and paper grain, in as close a form as possible to the original. The artists will enjoy increased opportunities to make their works known to more people. At the same time, consumers can purchase works relatively easily, making art more familiar to many people.

2. Building a licensing business

By bringing together image data archives, one of Japan's largest art image data lending services operated by DNP Art Communications, with artists participating in TRiCERA ART, the partners will build a licensing business that leverages images of works by contemporary artists. Through market research and feasibility experiments, the partners will pioneer the market and put it on a commercial footing.
