Overseas markets recorded 1,722.2 billion yen, up 18%, accounting for 51.5% of the total market, and surpassing the domestic market for the first time in three years since 20203. Further market expansion is forecast for the future, and related markets such as goods and events are also expected to grow.
- DNP's first overseas TAC store, the Tokyo Anime Center in SAN FRANCISCO, has been visited by an estimated 500,000 people in the nine months since its April, 2024 opening. Building on this success, DNP will continue to expand overseas, especially across the United States, beginning with this second outlet on the East Coast in Burlington, MA.
- At this new base, the company will develop a fun photo business, which combines automatic photo shooting and print services to create on the spot composites and prints from content such as characters and logos. An automatic photo shooting and printing service will also be offered. Anime and manga fans can also look forward to the capsule toy area, where miniature toys are dispensed by capsule vending machines, and special events from the Tokyo Anime Center in DNP PLAZA SHIBUYA in Japan will be introduced, while a number of the creative works will also be on display. Additionally, DNP plans to develop products focused on Japan-based content services, including the export and marketing of anime and manga goods produced and manufactured in Japan and developing Japanese content-driven products for sale only in North America. Various initiatives will be promoted designed so as to bring overseas fans closer to Japanese anime and manga.
- DNP will use the Tokyo Anime Center to test various content-related services in the US and collaborate with local companies.
