Basic Approach

DNP believes that building trust with stakeholders—including business partners, employees, local communities, consumers, and shareholders and investors—is essential for achieving sustainable growth together with society. To ensure that stakeholders have an accurate understanding of our business activities and corporate initiatives, we proactively disclose information and fulfill our responsibility to explain our actions. Furthermore, in order to properly understand how DNP is perceived, we strive to deepen dialogue with stakeholders. By sincerely addressing the issues and expectations identified through such dialogue, we aim to become a company that earns and maintains the trust of society.

To clearly communicate this approach both internally and externally, DNP has adopted the Multi-Stakeholder Policy and the Partnership Building Declaration.

Policy

Multi-Stakeholder Policy

DNP has established the Multi-Stakeholder Policy based on the recognition that building relationships of trust with all stakeholders is essential for achieving sustainable growth together with society.

Partnership Building Declaration

DNP has made the Partnership Building Declaration to ensure that all employees act with integrity and uphold high ethical standards in their dealings with business partners across the entire supply chain, as well as with a diverse range of companies and organizations, including startups.

  • [Partnership Building Declaration]
This initiative was developed by the Council for Promoting Partnership Building to Pave the Future, whose members include the Chair of Keidanren (Japan Business Federation), the Chair of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the President of RENGO (Japanese Trade Union Confederation), and relevant ministers (Cabinet Office; Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare; Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism). The declaration clearly communicates—both inside and outside the company—DNP’s commitment to building new forms of partnership by promoting collaboration, coexistence, and mutual prosperity with business partners throughout the supply chain and with companies engaged in value creation.

Promotion Structure

DNP reviews and assesses the content of stakeholder engagement, including opinions and feedback received through various contact points, and utilizes this information to improve its business activities. The feedback received is compiled by the divisions responsible for each contact point, and the information is regularly shared with the Management Committee and the Board of Directors. In addition, the results of stakeholder engagement are shared with stakeholders through reports and other appropriate means, depending on the nature of the feedback.

Stakeholder Identification and Dialogue

Identifying and Prioritizing Stakeholders

DNP’s business activities involve a wide range of individuals and organizations. Among these, we identify business partners, employees, local communities, consumers, and shareholders and investors as key stakeholders essential for DNP’s sustainable growth together with society.

We also review the identification and prioritization of stakeholders as necessary, in response to changes in both the internal and external business environment.

Dialogue and Collaboration with Stakeholders

To ensure the timely and appropriate provision of accurate information, DNP continuously enhances its communication methods and tools for stakeholder engagement. Through these efforts, we aim to deepen "TAIWA" (dialogue) with a variety of stakeholders and strengthen collaboration based on mutual understanding.

Engagement Activities

Engagement activities with business partners (suppliers, outsourcing contractors, clients, etc.)

Under the Partnership Building Declaration, DNP works to build relationships of trust with business partners—such as suppliers and outsourcing contractors—while enhancing the overall social compatibility of the supply chain. We conduct transactions based on the DNP Group Sustainable Procurement Guidelines, ensuring that the policies set forth in the guidelines are communicated widely, and we regularly assess and evaluate the status of related initiatives, providing feedback on the results. Furthermore, through open innovation, we continue to strengthen communication with diverse companies and organizations, including startups, and promote the creation of new value and new businesses.

DNP’s sustainability initiatives have been highly rated in supplier assessments conducted by numerous client companies.

Engagement activities with employees

Since establishing TAIWA (dialogue) as one of the Guiding Principles in 2001, DNP has conducted various surveys on a regular basis to incorporate employee feedback into corporate activities. Each organization engages in TAIWA (dialogue) based on survey results, which in turn helps drive improvements across a range of themes and contributes to strengthening management practices.

Participation in External Initiatives and Organizations

DNP actively participates in international initiatives and organizations in order to contribute to resolving social issues on a global scale.
