DNP Launches High Quality Multi-Lingual Sales Support Tool Production Service

Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) in conjunction with DNP Media CreateCo., Ltd. (DMC), a DNP Group company engaged in the planning and productionof commercial printing materials, and DNP Digitalcom Co., Ltd. (DDC), also aGroup company engaged in the planning, production and development of websites,have launched a service, which performs high-quality multi-lingual translationservices when creating websites, catalogues, pamphlets and POP.
The new service is based on a multi-lingual production platform that managesassets, such as the translation-related know-how accumulated to date, translationdata and glossaries, while also successfully harnessing them for use with multi-lingualtranslations. The newly developed platform can handle more than 170 languages.In addition to the multi-lingual production support service, the three partieswill also offer platform functions as a cloud service.

In recent years, amid the expanded demand seen for inbound tourism servicesin line with the increase in overseas visitors to Japan, and advances in globalbusiness development by companies, there have also been increasing calls forhigh-quality translations, delivered in an efficient manner, to match the shiftto multi-lingual websites, catalogues, pamphlets and POP.
From 1998, DNP has created a network of global printing companies, and hasoperated a service offering multi-lingual conversion, editing and printing ofsales promotion materials in response to the globalization efforts at our clientcompanies. DMC has offered a service for the translation, editing and designof various Japanese materials into multiple languages, while DDC has also offereda service for the conversion of Japanese websites into multiple languages inline with the globalization efforts of Japanese companies. The three companieswill manage assets, such as the translation-related know-how accumulated todate, translation data and glossaries, and will employ multiple translatorson a concurrent basis to create a platform capable of consistently outputtinghigh-quality translations in an efficient manner. And in addition to a multi-lingualproduction support service offering an integrated service from the translationto creation of website and sales promotion materials, the partners will alsooffer the newly developed platform to companies as a cloud service that canhandle more than 170 languages.

In order to extract Japanese text from DTP data for printing uses, automaticallyreference past translation texts and glossaries, and perform automatic translationof the applicable portions, it has been made possible to reduce actual translationvolume to the minimum levels.
As it is possible to confirm the progress status of multiple translatorson the website management screen, this leads to the efficient management ofproduction operations.
The new platform can handle in excess of 170 languages.

DNP, DMC and DDC will offer the new service and platform to companies operatingbusinesses targeting overseas visitors to Japan, and companies with global businessoperations. The three companies aim for adoptions by 20 companies and sales,including those of related operations, of 400 million yen in FY 2016.
