DNP Named Lead Sponsor of Art of Manga
North America’s first major manga exhibition

Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) has been named the Lead Sponsor of Art of Manga, North America’s first major manga exhibition, to be held at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, CA, from September 27, 2025 to January 25, 2026.

The event marks the first large-scale exhibition dedicated to Japanese manga ever presented in the United States, the world’s largest content market. It will offer North American-based fans a rare opportunity to experience the appeal of manga through displays of original drawings from Japan’s representative manga artists and limited-edition merchandise.
DNP will leverage its extensive track record of collaborative connections with publishers and other content holders to support the overall operation of the exhibition. We will provide advice on the presentation and framing of the original artwork, as well as utilize our advanced printing technologies in the planning and production of the official exhibition catalogue and original goods.
Purpose of Sponsorship and DNP’s Role
DNP has long collaborated with museums and cultural institutions to create new ways to appreciate art by leveraging its high-definition printing and cutting-edge digital technologies. We also maintain deep and longstanding relationships with the publishing industry in Japan, and in addition to printing comic books, have also been engaged in content businesses, including exhibitions and merchandise sales that utilize manga-related intellectual property (IP).
As the Lead Sponsor of Art of Manga, DNP will draw on this wealth of experience to deliver a comprehensive suite of creative and technical solutions, including:
- Consultation and operational support for the display of original manga artworks
- Framing and high-quality digital output of original illustrations
- Production of the official exhibition catalogue utilizing DNP’s advanced printing techniques.
- Planning and manufacturing of original exhibition merchandise
DNP’s Global IP Initiatives and Expansion in North America
With operational and production sites around the world, DNP plays to its strengths in partnerships with diverse content holders and creators to promote a variety of initiatives that contribute to the development of content culture and the creative industry.
In Japan, DNP operates the Tokyo Anime Center in DNP PLAZA SHIBUYA, a hub for introducing the attraction of Japanese anime and content culture to both domestic and international audiences. In April 2024, we opened our first overseas base, Tokyo Anime Center in SAN FRANCISCO, followed by the opening of a second North American location, the Tokyo Anime Center Burlington Mall near Boston, MA, in February 2025.
Going forward, DNP will continue to deliver the appeal of Japanese manga, anime, and other cultural content to audiences around the world, beginning with the US.

Art of Manga is the first large-scale exhibition in North America focused on manga. Presented with the cooperation of Japan’s leading publishers and production studios, the exhibition features over 600 original works by eight of Japan’s popular contemporary manga artists—many of which are being shown publicly in the US for the first time.
