Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) in conjunction with Eslite and Tezuka Productions will launch the Osamu Tezuka Book Store at the Eslite premises in the Dunnan area of Taipei from July 13, 2018. In addition to the Dunnan outlet, to commemorate this launch from July 13 until September 2, the Osamu Tezuka Book Store Fair will be held at three Eslite locations in Taipei, Taichung and Gaoxiong.

The Osamu Tezuka Book Store was launched in Japan 2014 as a project designed to sell all and every kind of books related to Osamu Tezuka, with five current locations at Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Gifu and Awajishima, including the flagship Maruzen Marunouchi Store.

The hybrid book stores that fuse print with digital are comprised of print media that handles manga and other publications, the Tezuka Spot, allowing visitors to access the Osamu Tezuka library on-site, a digital media area handling e-books, and an on-demand publishing that can accept the production and sale of out-of-print works and books from as small a lot as single reprints. 

Osamu Tezuka has been compared to Walt Disney, and was even referred to as the God of Manga. His popularity is universal, and his portfolio of work has developed a high reputation in Taiwan. 

Tezuka died at the relatively young age of 60 in 1989, and in this latest development, the three partners aim to commemorate what would have been his 90th birthday by launching the Osamu Tezuka Book Store in Taipei in an attempt to broaden his appeal from his traditional fans to younger generations of manga readers. . 

Eslite was established in 1989, and has become Taiwan's representative large scale book store chain. The company operates as a hybrid facility offering not only books, but also artworks from Taiwan's artisans and creators, as well as food and fashion experiences all selected based on the unique sense cultivated by Eslite since it was founded. It continues to maintain a high level of popularity with people of all ages and genders, and in 2004 was selected as the Best Book Store in Asia by Time magazine. As of June 2018, Eslite currently operates 41 outlets in Taiwan, three in Hong Kong and one in Suzhou China.
